  • Vaasa

IKKUNA NEWS: The debate and talk about climate change and energy use is gaining momentum through-out the world in the wake of global warming and its disastrous effects. One way to curb global pollution and reduce the greenhouse gases is by using clean energy or renewable energy.

The focus of the Vaasa EnergyWeek is renewable energy and it brings together a lot of experts, scientists and companies to discuss and share the latest developments and trends in the industry.

Vaasa is known for its energy companies and its cluster. The Vaasa region is powered by EnergyVaasa, the largest energy cluster in the Nordic countries.

– EnergyWeek is an annual series of energy related events during one week in the middle of March. Events are organized by several players; universities, large corporations and municipalities, says Marko Koski from Vasek, one of the partners.

Different themes. Vaasa EnergyWeek offers interesting events and forums for experts in both the public and private sectors. The international event is arranged for the fifth time in 2016.

Now it has grown with several new events. Gas Exchange is following the successful Wind Exchange concept into new areas of the energy scene.

The big potential of natural and bio gas is also handled in the new Energy Law event. Energy & Buildings, one of the traditional seminars at the Vaasa EnergyWeek, offers its participants an opportunity to discuss business and technology in a networking event in parallel with the expert seminar.

– Vasek, Vaasa regional development company is alone or together with different partners in charge of several events. Those include Sales Café, Energy & Buildings and EnergySpin, says Koski.

Popular event. Vaasa EnergyWeek will be held during 14–18 March 2016. A total of almost 3,000 energy experts from various parts of Finland and Europe took part in the events in 2015. The visitor numbers are expected to rise further as the event’s reputation increases.

The mix of traditional and new events makes Vaasa EnergyWeek an even more interesting week of energy.

– All of the events in the EnergyWeek have their own flavor and attract different audience. Main focus is to get people within energy sector connected, to find new business opportunities and share the knowledge.

– EnergySpin tries to make it easier for energy startups to find both investors and customers. And hopefully in that way make a positive impact what it comes to sustainability and climate change. Making the world to a better place, says Koski.

All events are open for the public and free to attend. Registrations are open now and interested people can register themselves as registration is mandatory to be part of the event.
